GS-800II heavy-duty antenna tracking system
GS-800II is a heavy-duty antenna tracking system designed for demanding space communication applications, supporting antennas up to 800 kg in weight. Engineered for permanent outdoor installation, GS-800II combines high load capacity, precise tracking performance and fast slewing speeds, making it suitable also for tracking fast-moving satellites and spacecraft in Earth orbit. The alt-azimuth mechanical architecture, high-torque drive systems and encoders on both axes ensure accurate pointing, reliable tracking and long-term operational stability, even under severe environmental conditions. GS-800II is the ideal solution for large-aperture ground station antennas requiring high precision, robustness and continuous remote operation.
The GS-800II features a large-scale, heavy-duty mechanical structure, reflecting its ability to support very high loads and large-aperture antennas. Its overall dimensions are the result of a design focused on stability, stiffness and precise motion control under significant mechanical stress. It provides the necessary leverage, rigidity and safety margins required for accurate tracking, high torque transmission and long-term outdoor operation with large antennas installed.
It can also be used with the optional Wind Sensor for INTREPID, which automatically parks the antenna in the stow position (pointing to zenith) when wind speed exceeds the configured safety limits. In this condition, the antenna is moved to the position that offers the lowest wind resistance, ensuring safe operation and protecting the system from excessive mechanical stress.
