PL-GSS Ground Station Systems
Designed for independent access to space

Automated. Easy-to-use. Made in Italy.

PL-GSS, the Prima Luce Ground Segment System, is a platform designed to build optical and radio ground segments on a solid, mission-ready foundation.
It combines optical ground station telescope systems and radio ground station antenna systems that handle complex aspects of a ground segment, tracking, automation and remote operation, while leaving customers free to integrate mission-specific components and their own mission control software. This allows organizations to build and grow their ground segment without relying on external services, complex turn-key infrastructures or developing everything from scratch.

AN INDEPENDENT GROUND SEGMENT IS NO LONGER A LUXURY.

IT'S BECOMING A NECESSITY.

PL-GSS is our solution. If you work with space missions, you need reliable access to space. You need data when your mission requires it. You need systems that can grow with your objectives, integrate with your software, and adapt to new requirements. And yet, most ground segments today are still built around compromises. External services that promise simplicity but reduce control over your data. Turn-key systems that work well on paper but leave little room for evolution. Or internal developments that consume time, resources and energy long before becoming operational. PL-GSS, the Prima Luce Ground Segment System, is for those who are no longer asking if they need control over their ground segment, but how to achieve it in a realistic, effective and sustainable way.

ABOUT GROUND STATIONS

A ground station for space applications is a critical component of the ground segment, acting as terrestrial infrastructure that works together with satellites in orbit or deep-space missions and enabling a wide range of space activities. Radio systems use radio frequency (RF) technologies to communicate with satellites, facilitating essential functions such as telemetry, tracking, control, and the transmission of scientific or operational data. Optical systems support space situational awareness (SSA), providing high-precision tracking of space debris, satellites, and other celestial objects to ensure safe operations in orbit. More they can be used also for laser communication, an innovative solution to meet the growing demand for higher data transmission rates and enhanced security.

PrimaLuceLab is an Italian company that has developed the Observatory Stations ground station telescope systems and the INTREPID ground station antenna systems to provide solutions that are easy install, integrate, and operate, supporting a diverse range of space missions. On this website, you can explore comprehensive information about the available ground station systems, including installation guides and practical application examples.
